Obituary

Mr. Herman C. Robbins, Sr., after 78 seasons, surrendered his soul on August 10, 2006 from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mr. Robbins was the retired Vice President of Tulsa Community College. He served as Vice-President of Business and Auxiliary Services at TCC. He also served the College as Associate Dean for Evening Programs and Summer School, Coordinator of Talkback Television, Chairman of Business Services Division, Mid-Management Coordinator and Business Instructor. Prior to joining TCC, Mr. Robbins served 23 years with Hanna Lumber Company in Tulsa as a Salesman, Supervisor, Manager of Hanna's #1 store and a member of their board of directors.

Mr. Robbins was a native of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma and attended school in Wagoner, Oklahoma. He graduated from Langston University and subsequently earned a Master's Degree from Oklahoma State University. He also completed gradute work at the University of Tulsa.

Mr. Robbins served as a Board member of several organiztions, including; Salvation Army Home and Hospital, Hutcherson Branch of YMCA, Tulsa Urban League, Children's Medical Center, American Red Cross, Tulsa Chapter, National Conference of Christians and Jews, Inc., and Doctor's Hosptital. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of North Tulsa.

His professional affiliations included; Higher education Alumni Council of Oklahoma, Central Association of Colleges and Universities Business Officers, National Association of Colleges and Universities Business Officers, Phi Delta Kappa, Prince Hall Masonic Lodge and Rotary Club of Tulsa. He was also a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He leaves in God's care; his wife, Flossie; 7 children; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a caravan of other relatives and friends.

The final tribute will be on Friday, Aug. 18, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of North Tulsa. Rev. Terry L. Buxton, Sr., The Presidiant and Rev. Anthony L. Scott, The Eulogist. The Christian committal will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, 51st and Memorial Drive in Tulsa.
