Mr. Hesley G. Beard, after 98 seasons, crossed from Life to Everlasting on Tuesday morning, March 23, 2010 from Muskogee.

On March 23, 2010, at 5:02 A.M., God dispatched his heavenly Angel to gather Hesley George Beard, Sr., into HIS arms after 98 earthly years.


Hesley was born on April 8, 1911 to Henry and Josie Viola Beard in Wilton, Arkansas. At the age of 6, the family moved to Summit, Oklahoma, where he attended Dubois School.


On October 17, 1941, he met and married Hattie M. Banes Frazier. To this union, 7 children were born. He united with First Baptist Church in Summit, where he was ordained as a Deacon and served until his health began to fail. He also served a number of years as Mayor of Summit.


Family members waiting on Mr. Beard in Heaven are his parents, 5 children, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and his wife, Hattie Mae. He leaves to lament his death; 3 daughters, Shurline Jones, Houston, Texas, Norma Jean Tucker, Okay, Oklahoma, and Clarice Berryhill, Carona, California; 2 sons, Victor and Sylvia Beard, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Ronald and Denisha Beard, Arlington, Texas; 2 sisters, Josie Dunn and Annie May Burch, both of Seattle, Washington; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Beard, Muskogee, Oklahoma; and a host of nephews, nieces, other family and friends.

The final hour will be on Friday, March 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the First Baptist Church of Summit. Reverend Charles Moore, Sr., Pastor, will Preside. Burial will follow in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery in Muskogee.
