Obituary

Horace Gerald Block, affectionately known as "Sugarman", passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 at his residence. He was born September 8, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Horace and Bernice Block. Gerald enjoyed fishing, riding his bicycle, and the outdoors. One of the highlights of his day was riding the City Bus to downtown Tulsa and visiting the ladies at the Federal Credit Union. He enlisted in the United States Army until his Honorable Discharge in 1975. Shortly after completing his service in the Army he began his career in 1983 with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation until 2003.


He was preceded in death by his parents; Horace and Bernice Block, wife; Denise Block, niece; Freida Block and great-niece; Jasmine Carey.

Those left to cherish his memory; sister: Joyce Carey, brothers; Walter (Elizabeth) Block and Barry (Levonne) Block, one son; Shawn Horey, two daughters, one step-daughter; Angela Wells and a host of nieces and nephews.

Service of Memory for Mr. Block will be on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Biglow All Faiths Chapel of Remembrance. Reverend Bob Kendrick Sr. will officiate. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery at Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.

Services for Mr. Block will be Monday February 9, 2015 at 11AM inside Biglow's All Faiths Chapel in Tulsa.

Friends may visit Mr. Block as he rests on Sunday from 3PM until 5PM in Tulsa.
