Obituary


On March 23, 1961 a baby girl was born to Johnny and Doretha Fennell of Muskogee, Oklahoma and they gave her the name Imogene Fennell. Imogene was a bright and beautiful young lady that took pride and passion in everything she did in life. She grew up in a small community by the name of Blackjack, west of Muskogee, Oklahoma and attended school in Taft, Oklahoma.

Imogene loved the culinary arts and became what most people that knew her today as the best chef around the Muskogee area. Imogene was a very special women with a kindness like no other. She opened her home and kitchen to anyone in need and helped so many souls. Imogene was a proud sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and mentor to her family and countless others.

Ms. Imogene was called home by our Lord and Savior on January 28, 2020, in the presence of her loving family at St. Francis Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She is preceded by her mother, Doretha Crisp Fennell and her father, Johnny Baptist Fennell.

Imogene is survived by her daughters Amanda Alston, Muskogee, Ok and Kalisa Harris, Muskogee, Ok. Grandchildren Andree' Benge, Mya Moore, and Zackary Harris of Muskogee, Ok. Sisters Aretha Brown (Lonnie Brown), Brenda Fennell, Lisa Thompson (Alan Thompson) of Muskogee, Ok, Lahoma Fennell Harding of Oklahoma City. Brothers Johnny Fennell Jr, Marvin Fennell of Muskogee, Ok. Nieces Alaya Thompson, Brittany Lang (Jarred Lang), Denise Brown, Rachella Fennell Manns (LaRoy Manns), of Muskogee, Ok, Sherita Brown of St. Petersburg Florida, Parthenia Harding of Oklahoma City,  Nephews Daryl Johnson, Jason Fennell of Muskogee, Ok. and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Her service to reflect on her life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the People's Chapel of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., in Muskogee. Reverend Nelson Ross will officiate.

Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 AM until 6:00 AM in the Amazing Grace Suite at the funeral home.
