Jackie Gail was born in Checotah, Oklahoma on June 18, 1961, the first born daughter of Diane Warrior and Raymond Dan. She was nurtured in the home and under the loving care of her mother Diane, her great a unt Dora Warrior, and cousin Ise rene Smith. She professed a hope in Christ at Mt. Olive Star Baptist Church and was baptized by the late Reverend Prince Maxwell, Sr. Jackie received her formal e ducation in Checotah , graduating with the Checotah High School class of 1979. While in school , she participated in the pep club, FHA, and a number of other extracurricular activities.
Jackie enlisted in the United States Army after graduation and se rved he r country for 17 years attaining the rank of staff sergeant. Following her retirement from active duty, Jac kie move d to Maryland where she worked as a CNA for hospice care. She met the love of her life Dewey Hopkins and was married June 5, 2004. They relocated to Oklahoma in the fall of 2008, and made their home in the city of Broken Arrow.
She was devoted to her family, always making sure that they were well and had everything they needed. She gave generously of her time and finances to anyone in need until her heart gave out. She also enjoyed spending time with her dog, "Pockets". She will be remembered for her friendliness, her broad smile and her concern and loyalty to family, friends, God, and country.
At the time of her death, Jackie was a faithful, supportive member of the Power House Temple of Faith and Deliverance under the ministry of Apostle Mandy Hamilton. She proved her devotion to God in her dail y living . One of the joys of her life was worshipping and serving the Lord and supporting her church.
Mrs. Hopkins was preceded in death by both parents, he r guardians Dora Warrior and Ise rene Smith, one sister, Arnetta Davis , one nephew , Dwight Burkhalter; and a special aunt, Flossie Simon Reed.
Jackie departed her earthly life on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 from Tulsa, Oklahoma, leaving to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Dewey of the home, sisters Mary Gail Polk of Tulsa, Jacqueline Marie Warrior (Len) of Checotah, Dian n e Sharon Von e Smith of Tulsa, She vetta Lee, Tara, and Kristy Ford , Ocquinetta Dan of Tulsa ; brothers "Spunk ie " Dan, Justin and Jason Dan, all of Checotah. Three special nephews Kirk (Brittany) Warrior , Brandon Smith, and Rau l (Jewel) Gonzale s; a special niece Whitney Zimmerman ; great nieces and nephews Pe a rdise, Lovl e , Ania, Laliah, Baby Jaqie, Frankie, Stella Marie, Alex, Gaynesha, Ceaz ar "Pig", and Deonte '. Special a unt Johnnie Bell Warrior of Checotah and niece Charlszetta Lyons of Tulsa ; and many more uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. May she rest in peace.
