A beautiful baby boy was born in Honey Grove, Texas on June 19, 1947 from the union of Eddie and Minnie Huey. They named their new son James.
He completed his education at Booker T. Washington High School in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. James met Ethel Rentie and their union produced a daughter, Lisa Rentie.
James provided for his family through his labor at Eva Patton Furniture Company, Soul Brothers Car Wash, Hillcrest Medical Center and Videon Furniture Company.
He loved watching football and fishing and will be missed by those who knew him. Mr. Huey left this life for eternity on Tuesday, October 3, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Minnie Bell Huey, his brother, Delmar Wayne Huey and two sisters, Bobbie Okeke and Glenda Francisa.
He leaves to lament his passing; his daughter, Lisa Rentie; his step-children, Brenda, Pamela, Karen, Michael and Cheryl, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Debra, Strafford, Virginia; his brothers, Carl [Linda], Larry [Diane], Kenneth [Brenda], Robert and Billy [Marilyn], all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his sisters, Ruby, Ruth Ann, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Joyce, Houston, Texas; his Aunts, Lillie Mae Thomas and Anna Hill, Plainview, Texas; his Uncles, Billy Ray and J. W. Huey, Ropeville, TExas and Joe Louis, Tulsa, Oklahoma; 18 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren;and a host of other relatives and friends.
Family members and friends may visit on Friday from 12pm-7pm at the Tulsa Chapel.
Funeral services for Mr. Huey will be held at 1Pm Saturday October 7, 2006 at Gethsemane Baptist Church. Interment will immediately follow the services in Crown Hill Cemetery.
