Mr. James L. Kincy, Sr., after 78 years, left this life for a life eternal from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Mr. Kincy was born on December 5, 1927, to the parents of Cleveland Kincy and Grace Benford-Kincy in Tulsa. He was the only child born from this union. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandmother that raised him, Sally B. Ashford.
He attended Dunbar Elementary School, Carver Junior High School and Booker T. Washington High School. He graduated with the class of 1946. After leaving school, he joined the US Military with the Air Corps. While serving in the Military, he became a corporal and received an honorable dishcarge in 1947.
James returned to his hometown of Tulsa, after leaving the military. Later, he moved to the state of California, where he resided until he moved back to Oklahoma in 1993. While living on the coastal state of California, he was employed as a longshoreman with the port shipping industry until he retired in 1989.
Better known as "Pops", he leaves to cherish his memory; 4 sons, James Daniel [Iva], Mark Anthony, Darryl Glen [Wanda] and Marius Justin; 2 daughters, Wanda Faye Kincy and Stacy Van; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
