Reflections on the Life of…
James C. Lee
On November 19, 1929, a baby boy was born to Bernard Lee and Fannie Byrd Lee in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was the first child born to the union. At the tender age of five, James lost his mother Fannie, and with the help of his aunts, James and his brother Vernon was raised by his father. He grew up there in Muskogee, attending Manual Training High School. James met the love of his life, Eloise Parker in 1947. They united in marriage on December 6, 1949. Mr. Lee was drafted to the United States Army on January 30, 1951, shortly before the birth of his firstborn, Norma Faye. James received on honorable discharge after active duty service on January 30, 1953.
James and Eloise Lee moved to Wichita, Kansas, where the couple gave birth to their second child, Marcia Alecia was born. He was employed by Boeing Aircraft as a Sheet Metal Assembler. The couple then moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where their third child, Ronald James was born. James accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was a member of Holsey Chapel C.M.E. Church. He was very active member and served on the Usher Board and Trustee Board until his health began to decline.
Mr. Lee was employed as an Auto Mechanic at OTASCO and retired after 33 years of service. He was a devoted husband and father whose responsibilities also included waking the children, and assuring they were dressed in time for school; making sure clothes were ironed and shoes were shining. A fond memory of his children was when he would wake them up telling them they were an hour late, when in actuality they were an hour ahead while believing him each time.
On October 7, 2011, Mr. James C. Lee finished his Earthly Course, Keeping the Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fannie and Bernard, and his daughter Marcia. He is survived by his beloved wife, Eloise Lee, daughter, Faye Moore, Wichita, KS., son, Ronald (Robin), Broken Arrow, OK., one brother, Vernon Lee (Boo), one brother in-law, Sherman (Udora), Purceina Harper(Edgar), all of Tulsa, OK., three grandchildren, three great0grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."
-II Timothy 4:7
