Mr. James Lewis, age 46 and a resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, formerly of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, surrendered his soul to Jesus on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 from St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

James was born in Oklahoma City on December 7, 1961, the son of the late Preston Lewis Sr. and Ernestine Lewis. He grew up in Okmulgee and attended Okmulgee Public Schools, graduating with the Prestigious Class of 1980. While in School he played football for the Bulldogs. After High School, he attended East Central University and Central State University, where he became a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Mr. Lewis served his country honorably in the United States Army as well.

The farewell tribute will be on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 2:30 PM in the St. Matthew Baptist Church, corner of Chicago Street and North Wood Drive. Rev. McKinley Rice, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Okmulgee.
