James L. Norris was born on July 15, 1940 in Clinton, Iowa to Marvin Carl Norris and Mary Helen Cooper Norris.

He died peacefully on July 5, 2023 in Tulsa, OK after a lengthy illness.

Jim earned a GED and served in the US army. He was honorably discharged on March 16, 1964.

Jim worked as a computer operator for American Airlines until his retirement in 1996. He was a bus driver both commercially and for Okmulgee public schools where he drove a daily route and was the athletic department driver for many years. Jim loved driving for students with special needs.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Okmulgee OK.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Adolph Norris of the home. Three stepsons, Greg Adolph of Okmulgee, OK, Jeff Adolph and wife Lisa of Austin, TX, Dr. Gary Adolph of Beggs, OK. Daughter Alicia of Tulsa, OK. Three grandchildren Mollie Adolph of Austin, TX, Brenna Villines and husband Cameron of Cleburne, TX, Dr. Phillip Adolph of Mounds, OK. One great grandchild Esther Villines of Cleburne, TX, as well as numerous brothers, sisters and other relatives.

A memorial service to celebrate Jim's life will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 2:00PM in the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee, OK.
