On August 30, 1944 in Okmulgee, OK, a precious baby boy was born to Dorothy Mae and James Herman Parker. They named him James Edward Parker. He was lovingly referred to as "Sonny". He was their only son. Sonny was the youngest of 4 children. He attended Attucks Elementary and Dunbar High School in Okmulgee. He worked for over 30 years and retired from the City of Okmulgee Sanitation Department.
Sonny loved to make people laugh. He liked telling jokes and he loved to dance. He also enjoyed being with his family. Sonny was a generous man with a big heart. His family loved him very much and he will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father . He leaves to mourn his three sisters; Irma Jean (Oathar) Todd, Leanna Goudeau (his beloved sister and caretaker), and Carol Sue (Sterling) Ross, a step-daughter that he loved; Makea Williams, 6 nieces, 6 nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.

Services will be Friday November 23, 2012 at 11AM at Eastside Church of God in Christ in Okmulgee.
