Obituary

Mr. James Thierry, after "Four-score years", passed from life to everlasting memory on Thursday, August 12, 2021 from Muskogee, Oklahoma.

James Edward Thierry was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 8, 1940, the first son of Earl James and Emily Thierry.

He grew up and attended Boynton Public school until he began to help his family on the farm until the 10 th grade.  While he was a young man, he met Lucille Barnett and fell in love. He proposed, she said yes and he made her his bride on April 15, 1961.

Their love was blessed with five children; Dale Thierry, of Boynton, Oklahoma, Roger and Kerri Thierry, of Boynton, Tony and Shannon Thierry, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Timmy Thierry of Dewar, Oklahoma and Shonita Thierry of Morris, Oklahoma.

James was a hard worker and provided for his family as a Brick Mason, as a Farmer, and even operated J & L BBQ Restaurant in Wild Cat Junction, near Grayson, Oklahoma.  He loved to cook for his family, especially his Gumbo. Everyone loved his Gumbo.

Mr. Thierry was a devout Catholic and a long-time member of the Uganda Martyr's Catholic Church, where he was very active, including the Knights of Peter Claver, Council 55, serving as a guard.  He continued to attend Uganda until his health began to fail.

James leaves in God's care; his wife, Lucille, of the home in Boynton;  his five children and their spouses;  his brother, Johnny and Sharon Thierry, of Tulsa, Oklahoma;  his grandchildren, Josh, Rod, Keenan, Ashton, Jameliah, Jonathon, Puddie, Hailee, Willy, Warren, Tia, Jaycee, Jorden and Jayden;  thirteen great-grandchildren;  a special friend, Virgil and Wanda Armstead; and his bonus daughters, Angel and Patricia Dalcour; along with other relatives and many, many friends.

Funeral Mass for Mr. Thierry will be on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the Uganda Martyr's Catholic Church.  Reverend Josh Litwack, Celebrant.  Burial will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery.

You may visit Mr. Thierry on Friday,  1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the funeral home.

A Rosary will be held at Uganda Martyr's Catholic Church on Friday beginning at 6:00 PM.
