IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Gabriel
Thompson
March 4, 1982 – July 27, 2019
James Gabriel Thompson was the fourth of nine children born to Leroy and Gail Thompson on March 4, 1982.
Gail often said if all of her other children were switched at birth, she knows for sure James was hers because he was born at home in Summit, Oklahoma. He was affectionately known to many as "Lil'man" and his maternal grandmother, Lottie Chilliest, called him her boy.
James has always been an energetic child. Growing up and attending The House of Deliverance Church, he would always want to be in the front of the church. When the children of each family were called to sing, James would run to the microphone to surrender the same (his favorite) song, "Preacher Man".
James attended and graduated from Muskogee Public Schools in May of 2000. He was a certified body shop mechanic and dog trainer.
He was already our hero, but he joined the United States Army in _________ and he completed two tours of duty in Iraq.
James was family oriented, a hard worker and jack of all trades. He's built sheds, erected fencing and installed flooring. He even participated in some mixed martial arts competitions. James touched many lives, never met a stranger and brought many "strangers" to our family Thanksgiving dinners. He truly loved everyone and believed in loving his neighbor as himself and felt everyone should look at a person's heart and not their outer appearance.
He married McKenzie Pigeon on February 28, 2017. Later, he relocated to Fraser Park, California, was an animal rehabilitator with the Wolves and Warriors organization at the Lockwood Animal Rescue Center and was featured in a TV series "Wolves and Warriors" on the Animal Planet channel.
James transitioned from this earthly life on Saturday, July 27, 2019. He was preceded in death paternal grandmother, Thelma Rogers, maternal grandmother, Lottie Chilliest and his nephew, Tylan Lee.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, McKenzie Pigeon; his son, Elijah Pigeon; his god-children; his parents, Leroy and Gail Thompson; his brothers; Matthew Thompson, Summit, Oklahoma, Javan Thompson, St. Louis, Missouri and Mark Thompson, Summit, Oklahoma; his sisters, Rachel Thompson-Lee (Greg Lee), Muskogee, Oklahoma, Angel Thompson, Muskogee, Oklahoma, Krystal Thompson, Summit, Oklahoma, Mary Daniels (Vick), Ft.
