James L. Weeden, Jr. was born on March 2, 1944, to Hallie Weeden and James Lovell.

James attended Alton Public Schools and graduated from Alton Senior High School, in 1974. Upon graduation, James enlisted into the United States Army, where he received an honorable discharge.

James married Joyce Marie Todd in December of 1991, and to that union, three children were born, Jamison (27), Jamesell (25), and Jasmine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hallie Weeden and James Lovell; his little daughter, Jasmine Marie
Weeden; his stepson, Corey and one Uncle Robert Lunsford.

Mr. James L. Weeden, Jr., after 76 years with us, passed from life to everlasting memory on Wednesday afternoon, April 22, 2020 from the Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Joyce Weeden; his sons, Jamison Weeden and Jamesell Weeden; stepdaughter, Carmen Todd; stepsons, Quinton Todd, Dontè Todd, and Jamel Todd Weeden; a sister, Jean Lovell; and a host of other relatives and friends.

You may visit Mr. Weeden, as he slumbers in peaceful repose in the Chapel of Peace of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Okmulgee on Friday from 12 Noon until 6 PM.

A graveside ceremony, limited to 10 designated family members, will be held in the Woodlawn Cemetery on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 1:00 PM.  Elder Booker T. Mangum will officiate.  Other family and friends that wish to join in the funeral procession to the cemetery are kindly asked to assemble in your vehicles at the funeral home on Saturday by 12:30 PM.  You are kindly asked to remain in your vehicles upon arrival at the cemetery and the funeral home staff will distribute funeral programs to you at that time.
