On October 25, 1958, Richard Coleman and Ella Mae Bell welcomed a beautiful daughter into the world. They named her Janet Lee Bell Coleman.
She grew up in Muskogee, where she attended Muskogee Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1976 from Muskogee High School. While in high school, she took up cosmetology. She also played basketball, but her passion would become her culinary skills.
Janet loved cooking, for any and all occasions and worked for over 12 years for Golden Corral Restaurant, where she was a baker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, domino's and listening to music with her family and friends.
Better known as "Big Mama" to friends and "Nig" as she was affectionately referred to by her grandchildren, she was also called "Becky" by some. She enjoyed life and laughter and will be missed by all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memory; her sons, Marcus Coleman, Lawton, Oklahoma and Mario [Lawanna] Coleman, El Reno, Oklahoma; seventeen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her mother, Ella Mae Coleman, Muskogee, Oklahoma; four brothers, Stacey [Sabrina], Leroy, Michael and Gary [Tonya]; a special friend who was like a niece, Phynix Coleman; along with a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services for Ms. Janet Lee Bell will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the most holy sanctuary of the Divine Love Christian Fellowship. Pastor Michael Webber will Preside.
Burial will follow in the Marshall Cemetery at Wybark, Oklahoma.
You may visit her as she slumbers in sweet repose at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM.
