Janet Marie Fausett's Obituary

Mom, Grandma, & Meemaw

Janet Marie Fausett was born on November 8, 1948, in Douglas, Oklahoma, to George Henry Van Hauen and Elvada Marie Johnson Van Hauen. She grew up as one of eleven children and carried the values of family, generosity, and resilience with her throughout her life.

Janet married the love of her life, David Frankie Fausett, on February 13, 1967, in Stigler, Oklahoma. Together they built a life centered around family, hard work, and community.

Janet was the heart of every gathering. She was always cooking, always feeding whoever happened to be there—or whoever she felt the need to invite over at the last minute. No one ever left her home hungry. She was known for doing just about anything, no matter how crazy, to make her grandkids smile. She was the proud mother of two daughters: Janelle Sinclair and Michelle Fausett. Janelle is married to Gary Sinclair, and together they have Chase Sinclair of Chicago and Cody Sinclair, who is married to Trystan. Cody and Trystan blessed Janet with three great-grandchildren: Zaelynn, Brentlee, and Boone of Muskogee. Michelle Fausett of Muskogee has two sons, Kelton Neals of Chicago and Tyeson Neals, who is engaged to Rylei Neilus. Tyeson and Rylei are the parents of Janet’s great-grandsons, Zhekai and Zhierre of Edmond, Oklahoma. Janet was also blessed with one bonus great-granddaughter, whom she loved dearly.

She loved watching Hallmark Christmas movies and took great pride in guessing every plot twist long before the ending, happily telling Kelton and Chase exactly how the movie would end. She enjoyed HGTV shows and talked about The Pioneer Woman like they were old friends. Janet loved crossword puzzles and had an impressive collection of nearly every 500-piece puzzle ever made—each one carefully assembled once, returned to its box, and stacked neatly in her closet.

One of her favorite simple joys was driving her golf cart around the pasture, heading down to the pond to feed the fish. Those quiet moments brought her peace and happiness.

Janet dedicated many years of her life to her work. She worked for 32½ years in payroll at Acme Engineering & Manufacturing, where she formed lifelong friendships before retiring. She later worked for seven years as a payroll technician at the Veterans Administration Regional Office before retiring once again. In 2002, Janet and Frankie opened Coody Creek Speedway at their home, fueled by their shared love of racing. Janet was a constant presence at every race, standing at the gate with a smile, greeting everyone who came through as if they were family.

Janet Marie Fausett, beloved Mom, Grandma, and Meemaw, passed away on February 14, 2026, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 77 years old. She will be remembered for her generous heart, her devotion to family, her quick wit, and the love she poured into everyone around her. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched, the meals she shared, and the memories that will be cherished forever.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, David Frankie “Froggy” Fausett; her in-laws, David C. Fausett and Myrtle Fausett; and her siblings Wayne Van Hauen, Judy Crider, George Van Hauen, Lori Van Hauen, and Tommy Van Hauen.
