Jason Ryan was born February 10, 1992 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Kevyn and Chester Smith Jr. adopted Jason in 1997 at the age of 5 years old.
Jason attended the Northside Evangelistic Temple Church of God in Christ, in Preston Oklahoma. He sang in the children's choir and during the Christmas and Easter programs at church, he was proud to recite his 10-paragraph speeches without error. Jason was intellectual at a young age and was a math scholar, who loved to read. Jason attended the Preston and Tulsa Public Schools and later earned his General Education Diploma. He enjoyed playing basketball, football, reading, and writing poetry.
Jason was friendly and energetic, with a ready smile that could lighten a mood in a room. He was easy going and had upbeat energy that put you at ease. He was one of the most fiercely loyal, and loving individuals you would ever know.
He cherished every moment with his nieces, Amiya and Amerie during their recent routine outings at the park, helping Amiya to ride her bike, and sharpen her softball skills. Amiya had him wrapped around her little finger and Amerie will miss his dreads swinging in the air for her entertainment.
Jason recently developed a close relationship with Raven Wallace and hoped that his newfound friendship would develop into a long-term relationship. Unfortunately, their friendship ended much too soon.
In his 27th year with us, Jason transitioned from "Earth to Everlasting" on Wednesday afternoon, August 7, 2019 from Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his Grandfather, Elder Ralph Bagby and a cousin, Deon Raphael Bagby.
