Jason was born on February 7, 1979, in Sun Valley, California, to his parents, Janet (Griffin) Smith and Juan Antonio Wiginton, Sr. He attended elementary school at Laurel Elementary in Hollywood, California, and later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he graduated from Clark High School. Jason pursued higher education at Los Angeles Valley College on a football scholarship.
In 2001, Jason moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where he began work at United Parcel Service (UPS) as a Part-Time Package Handler. In 2003, he transferred to the Muskogee UPS facility, where he later worked as a Full Time Package Car Driver/Feeder Driver.
In 2008, Jason met the love of his life, Bess Warren, and they were later married on March 3, 2014, and raised their three children, Adam, Aaron, and Anyssa.
During his over 20 years of employment at UPS, Jason became very active within the Teamster Local 516 Union and served as a Trustee on the Executive Board for the eastern half of Oklahoma. Additionally, he served as a Union Steward at the Muskogee UPS Facility, where he was a role model and provided help and guidance to many employees. Jason was very proud to be a UPS employee and Teamsters Union Member. Jason loved music and movies and collected guns, knives, and niche fragrances. He enjoyed gaming, electronics, and mixed martial arts, and was an avid fan of wrestling. He was also interested in physical and mental health wellness.
Mr. Jason Christopher Todd Wiginton, a resident of Muskogee, in his 44th year of life, passed from this life on Friday, August 25, 2023
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Annette Griffin.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bess Wiginton; children, Adam Martin, Aaron Martin, and Anyssa Martin; parents, Janet Smith and Juan Wiginton, Sr.; stepfather, Donald Smith; mother-in-law, Melissa Warren; brothers, Jonathan E. Choate and William Wiginton; sister, Tamela Nelson; sisters-in-law, Ahna Votaw and Carrie Olive; nephew, Jay-Sean L. Choate; aunts, Sheryl Dickerson, Regina Griffin, and Deborah Griffin; uncle, Michael Griffin; cousins, Marcus Griffin, Ray Palmer, Sherie Dickerson, Brian Carter, Christopher Dickerson, Indra Griffin Baldeo, Sean Griffin, Maya Griffin Ward, Omara Griffin, and Mikie Griffin; best friend, Michael Wright.
The Hour of Remembrance for Jason will commence on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the Tenth Hour in the most holy sanctuary of LifePoint Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where Pastor Guy Parrish is the Gracious Host and Minister Corey Rucker will render the Eulogy.
You may visit Jason, as he slumbers in peaceful repose on Friday, September 1, 2023 between the hours of 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM in The People's Chapel of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Muskogee.
The Christian Committal will immediately follow the services in the Elm Grove Road Cemetery near Keefton, Oklahoma.
