Jean fought the good fight of faith which lead to the end of her journey on February 5th, 2013 and crossed over unto eternity without any more pain and suffering.

On October 13th, 1933, a beautiful daughter was born to Willie and Frances Brooks. They named her Jean Elizabeth Brooks. Jean attended school in Grayson, Oklahoma where she graduated with her class in 1950. Jean went on to further her education as a CAN, LPN, and Heart Monitor Tech. Jean had a special passion for her patients. Jean was employed at Doctors Hospital for 25 years until the closing of the hospital. She also worked for Oxford Health Care for 16 years. Few of her past time favorites and passions included gardening, taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and shopping at the THRIFT STORE. All of her children always knew what they were getting or Christmas every year, because she loved crocheting booties, hats and scarves. Her two dogs Boogers and Mitzi were her faithful companions to the end. Jean had a heart for her patients until her health started to fail her. Jean loved her church home, Full Gospel Family Outreach Ministries where she was faithful member and looked forward to attending the Mothers Board meeting the 1st Monday of every month, especially with her two best friends also known as the Golden Girls Alma Brown and Geraldine Prudom.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Frances Brooks, four brothers: Lewis, Clarence Willie, Jonas and Harrison, three sisters: Mae Helen, Amberine and Edith, three great-grandchildren: Martez Cullom, Jr. Ebonie and Dominique Ponder.

Jean leaves wonderful memories to her children: Maxine Franklin Barron (William), Fairbanks, AK., Willie Ponder (Naomi), Adrian Ponder (Dena), and Stacia Bunch (Don), all of Tulsa, OK., twelve grandchildren: Derek Brown, Dynisha Sheppard (Victor), Brittany Bunch, Devin Ponder, LaDawna Ponder, Jr. William Barron, Jr. (Christina), Don Bunch, III (Trae), Eboni Ponder, Brandon Barron, Dyneishia Bunch, Willie Ponder, Jr., and Nicholas Ponder, twenty-four great-grandchildren: Kuhrston Bunch, Quiana Brown, Nickayla Ponder, Isabella Barron, Kingston Palmer, Derek Brown, Javier Sheppard, Arianna Barron, Derreon Bunch, Morgan Ponder, Julian Sheppard, Mariah Barron, Kha'mauri Bunch, Dante Ponder, Cessnie Barron, Brandon Barron, Jr. Bri'Ana Ponder, Kaia Ponder, Katelyn Barron, Jaxson Barron, Micah Ponder, McKenzie Ponder, Caleb Barron, Felicia Barron, and with a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins, and friends.
Services will be February 9, 2013 at 10AM at Full Gospel Ministries in Tulsa. Visitation will be Friday from 12Noon until 7PM in Tulsa.
