Celebration of Life for Jeremiah Leaundre Embry

On October 10, 2004, a familiar scripture was embraced as Ashely Mason would hear the news that her baby boy was struggling to survive, the umbilical cord wrapped around his lifeless body yet against all odds, he survived. There was no doubt he would be called "Jeremiah", after all the scripture was found in the book of Jeremiah 29:11:

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

Jeremiah Leaundre Embry aka "Dooda" was a survivor even up to now. Many of you do not know his story. Today we are here to celebrate his life and find purpose in our own story.

Dooda, as we commonly reference him was called at a very early age to be the anchor in his Mother Ashley's life, as well as bring joy to the rest of his family.

Jeremiah was a playful young man that loved to meet people and make people laugh, he never met a stranger. It is also important to note, he also wanted to simply love and be loved.

There are several relationships with family and close friends he treasured.

As I listened closely to each funny or sad story the one that stood out the most was from "D", his stepdad.

As I watched his eyes tear up he spoke about the daily phone calls from Jeremiah, how he was very accountable and always wanted him to know that he was appreciated. "D" stated, when Jeremiah was home he was able to just be a kid. Jeremiah, is home now. He was always very appreciative to see his mother happy, so "d", thank you for allowing him to rest in peace.

To the rest of the family, we are here today because August 7, 2020, Jeremiah's candle was extinguished by God here on earth, however his light will continue to shine in our hearts forever through the memories and moments.

Don't leave today without understanding, today was never about mourning his life… It was about saving yours.

"REMEMBER ME"

by Dorian D Carr

To my Mom, Siblings and Family I want everyone to remember me with smiles and not tears.

Remember all the laughter not sadness. We've shared through all the years.

That my life was worthwhile, knowing that I passed along the way, I made you all smile.

Remember the closeness that was ours. don't dwell on thoughts that may cause you pain; We will see each other once again.

I am at peace, try to believe it was my time, I had to leave. but what a view I have from here!! I see your face, I feel you near. I will always follow you throughout the day, you are not alone along the way.

And when god calls on you, you will be right by my side, right here with me,

Until then I will wait by heavens' door, we will be united again.

Forever more.

"A NOTE FROM HEAVEN"

Author Unknown

If I could write from heaven, this is what I would say,

Please don't miss me to much I am with you throughout your day.

You may not see or hear me, but if you are quiet and still, you may feel my presence; because, in heaven there is free will. Don't worry for the day, it will come and go as planned, Enjoy each moment you are given, keep worry from your hand.

Keep sorrow to a minimum for if heaven you could see. You'd know I'm safe and happy, I do not cease to be.

Moments in time are brief, until we be together again, As Eternity last forever, our lives, they have to end.

UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN!!!!!!!!
