Obituary

Jerry Wayne Lemmon was born on January 28 th , 1940 in Watonga, Oklahoma to John & Gay Lorene Lemmon. He was what you call a military brat. His family moved from town to town. Jerry often recalled cutting his first tooth on a coke bottle. Coke remained his beverage of choice. As a young child, Jerry was full of life and had an incredible vocabulary. He would joke that his parents would give him a quarter to go to the show, get a popcorn, and soda just so they could have a break from his talking. He said he saw every show that came to town! His father died as a casualty of World War II when Jerry was only 4 years old.

In 1950, he and his mother settled into The Village in Oklahoma City. In 1955, Jehovah's Witnesses knocked on their door, and he was later baptized in 1958, the same year he graduated from high school. He learned the trade of painting weeks out of high school and stuck with in until retiring as a professional contract painter in 2006. Painting was a job...but a job that he loved. Another hobby of his was flying. He was a licensed pilot and he enjoyed being in the air. He did much traveling and had stories for days.

In December 1980, Jerry married his loving wife, Judith Ann Cochran. They had two children, Christopher Sean, and Melissa Suzanne. They raised their children to love Jehovah as they both did. Jerry served his congregation as an elder for many years. He delighted in his Christian responsibilities. Being a part of Jehovah's organization "kept him going."

In his free time, he loved to read, research, shop online, cook, and collect gadgets. He had a soft spot in his heart for his family, especially his grandkids Kylan, Laila, & Riley Wilson. He communicated with them daily. He was his families' everything. In the last days of his life, Jerry was still sharp as ever, sharing points from the Watchtower lesson, and building his families faith in the Paradise hope. He was one of a kind.

He was preceded in death by his faithful mother Gay Lorene Warren, and a beloved son Christopher. He was surrounded by those that loved him most at the time of his passing. He is survived by his wife, Judith, sons Keith and Kirk, daughter Melissa, son in-law Tristan, grandchildren Kylan, Laila, & Riley Wilson.
