Ms. Jewel L. Loyd, in her 82nd year, "dozed into the precious peace of eternal slumber" on Monday morning, April 12, 2021 from her home in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Jewel Lee Ransom, daughter of the late Willie Drew Ransom and Cloteal Ransom (Townsend), was born in Haynesville, Louisiana on July 30, 1938.
The family relocated to Coffeyville, Kansas when she was 5 years old. She attended Cleveland School and Field Kindley High School.
She worked at Spears Manufacturing, where she retired after 20 years; all while raising her children and being a loyal servant of Sardis Baptist Church, where she once served as President of the Usher Board and the Mission Department. She also served on the Harmon Park Board and whenever she had the time, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and working in her yard planting flowers.
Ms. Loyd was met at "Heaven's Gate" by her mother and father, three sisters, Delois Smith, Margaret Marion and Tresa B. Ransom, two sons, James Loyd and Rickie Loyd, and a daughter, Aneatra Ransom.
She leaves In God's Care; three daughters, Candy Ransom and Loreatha Loyd of Coffeyville, Kansas and Lisa M. Freeman (Sales) of Carrollton, Texas; two brothers, Archell Ransom of Columbus, Ohio and Curtis Harris of Kansas City, Missouri; her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren along with a caravan of nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends who will forever cherish the memory of Jewel Lee Loyd.
