Obituary

On March 27, 1941, a bouncing, baby boy was born to the proud parents of O. Z. Carter and Rosa Lee Alexander. They named him Jimmie Bruce Carter.

Jimmie attended school in Muskogee and graduated from Manual Training High School in 1960. He later joined the United States Army, where he served his country honorably, while stationed in Germany.

After completing his service in the military Jimmie worked for Public Service Company of Oklahoma before retiring after 20 years of service. After his retirement, he began his career with Trigen Energy Corporation as a Chief Engineer before he became ill.

Not only was Jimmie a great worker, he was a great Coach. He coached both the boys and girls basketball teams and the football teams at Monroe and Gilcrease Schools in Tulsa. He was a great family man, a loyal friend, a dedicated coach and mentor to the kids he worked with and a great man who will be missed by all who knew him.

In his 69th year, Jimmie Bruce Carter dozed into the tranquil peace of eternal slumber, with his devoted wife by his side on Tuesday morning, October 26, 2010 from his home in Muskogee. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Johnny Carter and Thomas Carter.
