Jimmie T. Johnson was born on March 30, 1957 to Lonnie and Ruthie Mae [Brown] Johnson, Sr., in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the oldest of three children in this family.
At an impressionable age, Jimmie professed a hope in Christ and was baptized. He received his formal education in Muskogee Public Schools, where he excelled in sports, particularly football and wrestling.
After school, he enlisted with the United States Army, where he served his country proudly and received an Honorable Discharge.
Mr. Johnson was a loving person who was always willing to help others. He was an active member of Central Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Mass Chorus and also the Brotherhood Chorus, serving as Vice-President. He enjoyed being around his church family as well as his immediate family and friends. But most of all, Jimmie loved the Lord.
On September 2, 2009, Jimmie quietly "drifted from time to eternity" from Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Johnson, Sr.
Those left to cherish his memory; his fiance', Sandra, of Muskogee; his two children, LaRhonda [Byron], Muskogee and Jerome, Wichita, Kansas: his mother, Ruthie Mae Johnson, Muskogee; a brother, Lonnie [Lani] Johnson, Marietta, Georgia; a sister, Yvette [Ewell III] Ennis, Muskogee; his grandchildren, Matthew, Juwan, Jamiah, J'Naya, Madison and Jakobe; a niece, Leilani, a nephew, Orion; and also a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.
