Mrs. Joe Ann Bridges, after 60 seasons of life, surrendered her soul on Saturday morning, November 22, 2014 from Muskogee, Oklahoma.
She was born to Marcus Simmons and Josephine Vaughn (Gearld Sr.) on July 31, 1952.
Joe Ann accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Little Rose Missionary Baptist Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
She received her education from Manual Training High School and graduated in the class of 1972. She worked numerous years for Broadway Glass and retired in 1996.
She was a loving wife, mother, and devoted grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren who brought so much joy and happiness.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband of 42 years, Maurice Bridges, Sr. of Muskogee, Oklahoma, her daughter, Marcie Bridges, and her son Maurice Bridges, Jr. (Suzanne) of Springdale, Arkansas; 4 granddaughters Dominique, Akia, Mauriah, and McKinley Bridges, 1 grandson Jace Bridges; 2 sisters Marsha Reed(Bobby Sr.) and Rosette Vaughn; 2 brothers Rodney(Kimber) and Gearld Vaughn; a very special aunt Jeanette (Ernest) Edwards, and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
The Hour of Tribute will commence on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the most Holy Sanctuary of the Antioch Baptist Church. Reverend Marlon J. Coleman, Senior Pastor, will Preside. Burial will follow in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery in Muskogee.
