Obituary
Joe Eddie Venson, Sr., was born in Moody, Texas on June 11, 1928, the son of Henry and Stella [Thompson] Venson.
Mr. Venson served his country honorably in the United States Army from October 12, 1950 until July 19, 1952.
Later in life, he met and courted Dorothy Harrison, and after courtship, they were married. They shared a bond that was very special and he will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved him.
After 90 years of life, Joe Eddie Venson, Sr., left this life for a life eternal on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from the Jack C. Montgomery Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Stella Venson, his brothers, August and Fred, five sisters, Ruth, Ora Lee, Hanna, Mathew and Louise, along with others who went on before him.
He leaves to cherish is memory; his wife, Dorothy, of the home in Muskogee; his children, Berlinda Cunningham, Nora Ballard, Tina Alexander, Gary Venson, Jerry Venson, Carl Venson, Joe Venson, Jr., Sherry Williams, and Charlene Johnson; along with a caravan of other relatives and friends.
A graveside ceremony will be conducted on Tuesday, July 24.2018 at 12:00 Noon in the National Cemetery at Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Pastor Michael Gaulden, Sr., Pastor of New Life Ministries in Taft, will officiate.
