On May 14, 1964, a precious, baby boy was born to Levi and Rosie Chatman. They named him John Terry Chatman, but he was affectionately known as Terry by family and "Terryberry" by friends.
Terry grew up in Muskogee, and received his formal education in the Muskogee Public Schools. At an early age, he accepted Christ, and was a member of the Canaan Missionary Baptist Church.
On September 5, 2014, Terry departed this life to rest in God's tender care. The loved ones who preceded him in death were his father Levi, two brothers, Levi Jr., and William, and two sisters, Emma and Regina.
Terry leaves to lament his death; his mother, Rosie Chatman; a special friend, Felicia Wheat; two sons, John Terry Chatman, Jr., and Cordell Smith; two daughters, Brittany Washington and Aikia Bridges; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Rosemary [James] Williams and Tressa [John] White; three brothers, Louis and Terrell Chatman and Dwight Lee; two Aunts, Millie Thurmond and Gracie Starling; one Uncle, Roy McCoy; tow sisters-in-law, Cheryl Chatman and Marie Chatman; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial ceremony is scheduled for Monday, September 22, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. In the Canaan Baptist Church. Rev. Wallace Brown, Pastor, will officiate.
