John Mason
Cary
Oct 11, 1949 — Jul 23, 2026
Tulsa
In the fall of 1949, in Brady, Texas, a baby boy was born to Joseph & Mary Cary on the 11th day of October. They named him John Mason Cary.
Professionally, John dedicated many years to Tulsa Public Schools in the janitorial services, where he was recognized for his diligence and strong work ethic. His commitment extended far beyond his job; it reflected his character—a man of his word who valued punctuality and reliability. He would often arrive early, ensuring he was never late; a small habit that speaks volumes about his dedication.
John was truly a gentle spirit—a man who loved Jesus wholeheartedly. He served his church, Mount Zion Baptist Church, under the guidance of Dr. Leroy Cole, with a heart full of gratitude and an unyielding commitment. He was known for his willingness to help others, always ready with a smile and a helping hand, no matter the circumstance. John believed in the power of service, and it showed in every interaction he had.
John's infectious smile was one of his most cherished qualities. No matter the challenges he faced, he carried his burdens with grace, always uplifting those around him. A phrase often heard from him was, "Jesus loves you," a simple yet profound reminder of his faith and positivity.
On the 23rd day of July, in the year of our Lord Two-thousand and Twenty-Six, John Mason Cary surrendered his earthly tabernacle for his heavenly home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Mary Cary.
He leaves behind many who will miss him dearly, including his cherished friends Cornelius, Ron, and Jovan. Each of them carries a piece of John's spirit and the treasured memories they shared. He is also lovingly remembered by many other family members and friends.
John Mason Cary, in his 76th year, said "take care" to us on earth on early Thursday morning, July 23, 2026 with his loving family near his side.
The Hour of Remembrance for Mr. Cary will commence on Friday, August 7, 2026 at the Eleventh Hour in the most holy sanctuary of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Tulsa, where Dr. Leroy Cole will preside.
