John "Bubba" Turrentine, II was born, September 29, 1955 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to John Turrentine, Sr. and Frances D. Behn.
John attended Emerson Grade School until the eighth grade. He continued school at Central High School and graduated in 1974. Upon graduation he attended Oklahoma State University for two years. He then went to work for Southwestern Bell, IBM and later for Oklahoma Natural Gas.
John met and fell in love with Lisa M. Sylvan at Sound Warehouse in the summer of 1978. They later married in October, 1980 and from that union was blessed with three children; Jonathan, Robert and Michael.
Caring for his family and living life to the fullest was most important to John. An avid NBA basketball fan, John would "NEVER" miss watching a game. His recent greatest joy was being "PawPaw" to his grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his step father, Leonard "Sonny" Guillory and younger brother, Stephon Turrentine.
On July 22, 2012, the Lord called John home. To cherish his memory; a wife of 32 years, Lisa; three sons, Jonathan, Robert, and Michael; his mother, Frances Guillory of Henryetta, OK, his father, John, Sr. of Bakersfield, CA; two brothers, Leonard of Henryetta, OK, Kevin & wife Christie of Tulsa, OK; three sisters, Saundra of Phoenix AZ, Debbie of Tulsa, OK, and Biafra & husband Fred Denmark of Atlanta, GA ; five grandchildren, Jay Nathan, Serenity, Treasure, Zoe, and Jasmine; along with numerous relatives and friends.

The Funeral Services for Mr. Turrentine will be Tuesday July 31, 2012 at 11AM at St. Monica Catholic Church in Tulsa. Friends may visit Mr. Turrentine, on Monday from 12Noon until 7PM.
