Obituary

On January 2, 1953, a baby girl was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.  She was the daughter of John Henry and Irene Jefferson.  They named her Johnetta Marie Jefferson, affectionately referred to as "Johnnie."  She attended Douglass Elementary and graduated from College High School in Bartlesville.  When she was not in school, Johnnie would spend the summer with her sister Wilma in McAlester, Oklahoma.
In 1968, wile attending high school, Johnnie met the love of her life, Ira Moton and they were married on June 8, 1971.  In 1972, a baby boy named Kevin was added to their family and in 1977, a baby girl named Aelicia completed their family.  She traveled around the world with her husband who was in the Navy.  She had lived in San Diego, California for fourteen years and while living there, she attended San Diego City College and in 1994, she worked for Millard's Fur Service before moving back to Oklahoma with her husband and kids to make this their final home.
Johnnie and Ira were married for forty-seven years and during those years, she took care of her husband which she made her top priority.  She would babysit her grandchildren, enjoyed watching soap operas, movies and occasionally she enjoyed the outdoors when she would go camping with her husband and daughter's family.  Johnnie also loved spending time with her grandchildren and going to bingo.
In 1994, Johnnie met Naomi Buchanan and both families came together by sharing grandchildren. As time went by, Johnnie and Naomi's friendship developed into a sister bond that would never be broken and their adventures took off. During their 24 years of sisterhood, they went to church together, family functions, traveled from one state to another and stopping at every casino they passed.  When you'd see one, you saw the other.
On July 13, 2018, Johnetta left this life for eternal peace and rest.  She was preded in death by her mother, father, two brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.
She leaves to cherish her memories;  her loving husband, Ira Moton;  a son, Kevin [Sherry] Moton, San Diego, California;  a daugher, Aelicia [Lloyd] Guerrero;  two brothers, Henry Johnson and Wardell Jefferson;  two sisters, Wilma Price and Mattie Nash; a brother-in-law, Alonzio [Jocelyn] Moton;  a sister-in-law, Ernestine Alexander;  Chris Guerrero, who was like a son;  five granddaughters, Latara, Keiva, Kiara, Karina, and Jasmynn;  two grandson, Cody and Darius;  a great-grandson, Tommy;  and her sister for life, Naomi Buchanan; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
