IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Johnnie Belle
Warrior
September 14, 1929 – December 16, 2018
Johnnie Bell Warrior was born September 14, 1929 in Checotah, Oklahoma to John and Bertha Dan McNac and was the first of four children.
She attended school in the Warrior community where she met the love of her life. On February 27, 1947, Johnnie Bell married Ellis James Warrior, and to that union four children were born.
Johnnie Bell worked for many years caring for others in the Checotah Nursing Home; and, she later used her nursing skills to care for ailing family members and loved ones. Johnnie Belle transcended the normal duties of a wife and mother as she remained steadfast with love and tenacity during unforeseen circumstances. Her oldest daughter (Rosemary), her husband Ellis and her oldest son (Wallace) preceded her in death.
Throughout Johnnie's life she became friends with many people and a mother figure to nieces, nephews, and to those who needed to feel the love of a mother in their life. In the later years of her life, Johnnie Bell became an elder who provided historical information about the Warrior family history.
Survivors who will cherish Johnnie Bell's memory include her son, Maurice of Muskogee, Oklahoma, her daughter, Sharon Kay of El Paso, Texas, her grandson Wallace Warrior, Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Sacred Farewell for Ms. Warrior will be on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Mt. Olive Star Missionary Baptist Church, in the Warrior Community, west of Checotah, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in the Warrior Cemetery.
