Mr. Johnny H. Demry, Jr., after 82 years with us, left this life for a life eternal on Friday evening, July 8, 2022 from Okmulgee.

Johnny H. Demry, Jr. was born December 10, 1939 as the second child to Johnny H. Demry, Sr, and Annie (Mitchell) Demry in Beggs, Oklahoma.

Johnny attended the Slick Public Schools in Slick, Oklahoma. He was employed as a construction worker at an early age. He later worked for the Fleming Company in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After moving to Beggs, Oklahoma, he worked for Texaco, McDonnell-Douglas in Tulsa, Oklahoma and retired from Quik-Set in Bristow, Oklahoma.

In 1979, Johnny met and married Brenda Thompson. This brought about a blended family of eight children: Darla, Ray, Darnella, Delila, David, Myra, Marlanda (Jack), Daron (Doc), and NaKeya.

Jonnny accepted Christ at an early age under the pastoralship of Rev. Greenhoward. He later joined First Baptist Church-South in Beggs, Oklahoma. He acquired the title of "The Ice Man" when the church purchased an ice machine. He would fill bags of ice so that they would be available for anyone who needed them. He also wore many other hats such as assisting with Barbeque Friday, cleaning and setting up for different events, assisting his wife, Brenda, with decorating the entire church for all holiday and special occasions, up until has health declined.

Johnny was a wonderful provider for his family. One of his most favorite things to do was to keep a beautiful lawn. Loved to cut the grass and tell you how he kept the landscape for neat and beautiful. He also had a way with words. One of his greetings was "Hey Sooner".

Preceding him in death were his Mom, Dad, a brother, Cephus Hall and his sisters Lavern Tottress and Wilma Jean.

Johnny leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his Home-going; His loving Wife Brenda of the home, one sister; Annabelle Grimmet of Tulsa, Oklahoma, one brother; Antony (Deborah) Cooks of Las Vegas, Nevada, His Blended family, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

The Hour of Remembrance to share memories and a farewell to Mr. Demry will commence on Monday morning, July 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the most holy sanctuary of First Baptist Church-South of Beggs.  Dr. Floyd Williams will officiate and the Pastor, Reverend Greg Lewis will render the Eulogy.

The Christian Committal will follow the service in the Beggs City Cemetery.
