Johnny Lee Gandy, Jr., affectionately known as Jr., G, JG, G-Man, and Lil' Johnny, was born on January 13, 1966, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He gained his wings on June 23, 2025.
He was the beloved son of Johnny Lee Gandy, Sr. and the late Sherann Gandy, and the cherished grandson of the late Evelyn Gandy Ross, who played a vital role in raising him during his early years. Johnny's life was grounded in love, laughter, and legacy.
Raised in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Johnny was a proud graduate of Muskogee High School, Class of 1984. Known for his quick wit, joyful personality, and signature humor, he formed countless lifelong friendships that carried him through every stage of life.
After graduation, Johnny began his career with Oklahoma Gas & Electric, where he worked for seven years. In 1993, he stepped into entrepreneurship with the opening of Gandy's Auto Sales in Muskogee. His passion for business and innovation continued to grow as he relocated to Texas with his former wife, Ramona Gandy, and their two eldest children. There, he launched Gandy's Detail Shop, which he operated until 1997.
Johnny's lifelong fascination with trucking—sparked by childhood summers on the road with his uncle—led him to purchase his first truck and trailer in 1997. This was the beginning of Gandy's Transport, a company he nurtured with dedication and pride for over 25 years. His work ethic, drive, and love for logistics defined his professional legacy.
In addition to his work in transportation, Johnny explored other business ventures, including co-founding All -N Records, and he had a passion for car shows, which he participated in at a professional level for a time.
On April 12, 2005, Johnny married the love of his life, Rhonda Newton-Gandy. Their love was a source of joy and strength, and together they built a beautiful life filled with family, faith, and laughter. Rhonda was by Johnny's side until his final breath, holding his hand with the same unwavering love she had shown every day of their life together.
Mr. Johnny Lee Gandy, Jr., in his 59th year, transitioned from "Earth to Everlasting Memory" on Monday, June 23, 2025 from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Johnny will be remembered for his magnetic personality, radiant smile, booming laugh, and generous heart. Whether dancing (often slightly off-beat), cracking a joke, or simply being present for those he loved, Johnny brought light to every room he entered. He was a devoted husband, an exceptional father, a proud grandfather, a loyal brother, and a true friend to many.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda Gandy; his children: Brooke Goree (Dimaio), Paige Gandy, Taylor Gandy, Ravynn Gandy, and Jordan Gandy; his bonus sons: Nikko and Ryan Lester; his grandchildren: Madison and Journee Goree, Rylie Biggurs, Jaxson and Elaiya Lester; his brothers: Vincent, DeWayne, Darryl "Cat Daddy", John Mark, Seneca (India), Jonathan, Taboo, and Chris; his sisters: Dana, Aingel, Louisa (Randy), Alicia,Courtney, Taylor, Kera, Josie, and Vickie.
