Obituary

Johnny Lee Jordan was born to the union of Coley Banks and Luella Mae Benson Jordan on June 11, 1929. The baby boy to his siblings, Johnny was raised in Nuyaka, Oklahoma. He attended Pleasant Grove Grade School, then went on to Rosenwald High School, where he also drove the school bus while also attending school. He had to wait two full years since there were not enough students to graduate.

He then went into the United States Army in December 1952 where he served his country for 22 months, and was Honorably Discharged as a Sgt. First Class. He met and married Betty L. Jones in Oklahoma, and to this union, Johnnie Belinda Jordan was born. After that marriage dissolved, he moved to Kanas. There he met and married Juanita Frazier on July 4, 1959. To this union, Johnny M., and JoAnna L. Jordan were born.

Mr. Jordan attended Palestine Missionary Baptist Church, where he served faithfully on several committees for years.

Mr. Jordan owned and operated his own dump trucks for over 50 years, until his retirement in 2006. He then moved back to Oklahoma in 2008. In his spare time, he loved to fish and play dominoes, and spending time with his family and friends.

His parents, three sisters, six brothers, his wife, and two grandchildren, preceded Mr. Jordan in death. Remaining to cherish his precious memories, his brother, Mr. Willie B. Jordan, Okmulgee, OK., sister, Mrs. Opal L. Jordan Hunt, Vallejo, CA., two sons, six daughters, & three sons in-law: Carolyn McCall, Okmulgee, OK., Wanda Faye Hendricks (Jerry), Tulsa, OK., Brenda Carter (Darrell), Bartlesville, OK., Johnnie Belinda Jordan-Sharper (Paul), Gonzalez, LA., Michelle Avery-Bey, Kansas City, KS., Johnny M. Jordan, Topeka, KS., JoAnna L. Jordan-Hurst, Kansas City, MO., D'Jon L. Slaughter, Kansas City, MO., along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and many family and friends.

Services will be Saturday August 24, 2013 at 2:30PM at St. Mary's Christian Center in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Viewing for Mr. Jordan will be Friday from 12Noon until 6PM in Okmulgee.
