Obituary

Deacon Johnny Lee Smith Sr. entered eternal life on Thursday August, 27, 2020, at the age of 76.

He was born July 19, 1944, in Henryetta, OK to Jack and Iva Smith.  Johnny served as Deacon of Osage Avenue Christian Church where he was a faithful member for over 30 years. He valued his family and loved the Lord wholeheartedly.

Deacon Smith graduated from Dunbar High School with the class of 1963. He had a passion for fishing, fixing cars and could often be found wiping and cleaning on cars and trucks.

In 1982, Johnny and Iva Johnson entered Holy matrimony and to this 16 year union a son was born,
Johnny Lee Smith Jr. (Jay) Jay married Lorraine Marie Sherman-Smith and they gave Johnny one of his
greatest titles of Pa-Pa to Mikayla Scott, Keyton, Jaden and Jaxen Smith. Three years after his wife's
transition, Mr. Smith met and married Maureen Allen-Smith and to this union, Johnny immediately
gained a son, (Awntwan Shields), a daughter-in-law (Chiquita Shields) and two granddaughters (Armahni
and Ki'Essence Shields). Johnny and Maureen also inherited their four-legged daughter, CoCo.

Johnny battled and fought cancer with all that he had and upon his victory, he gained his wings when he
surrendered to the Lord's call. He was lovingly surrounded by family.

Deacon Smith leaves to cherish his memory a caring and loving wife of 19 years, Maureen Smith, a son
Johnny Lee Smith Jr. (Marie Smith), a bonus son Awntwan Shields (Chiquita Shields), Six grand children,
Keyton, Jayden, Jaxen, Mikayla, Armahni and Ki'Essence. He also leaves two sisters, Anna Mae Jones
and JoAnn Smith along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceding Mr. Smith in death is his 1st wife, Iva Smith and siblings Jackie Mae Colbert, Mable Gardner-Smith, Dillard Smith, James Smith and Jody
Smith.

The family would like to acknowledge Mr. Booker Whittaker for being Johnny's life-long best friend and give a special appreciation to the staff and nurses of Kindful Hospice for all of their dedication and care for our dear Pa-Pa Johnny.
