Mr. Johnny Lee Wilson passed away in the early morning hours of August 8, 2026. John was the tenth child of A. W. (Scott) and Rosie Williams Wilson. He was born on June 29, 1936, in Okmulgee, Ok. Over his lifetime John had six nicknames (John Boy; Tender; Killer; Dad; Big Daddy and Big Unk).

John married the love of his life, Rae Ann Hill on August 16, 1958. John and Rae were faithful to the Lord their entire life and they served in several churches over the years including Cleaves Memorial CME; Northwest Baptist; Okmulgee Community and Osage Avenue Christian. 

Along with serving the Lord, John was a volunteer at the Okmulgee Summer Multi-Cultural Enrichment Program for 24 years. His favorite task was filling the snack bags for the kids, and we estimate he filled over one hundred and fifteen thousand (115,000) bags. John truly never met a stranger. He had a generous, kind and gentle spirit, making friends wherever he went.

John worked at seven different jobs during his life. He was employed at H&H Taxi (cab driver); Manhattan Company (Construction Worker); Mrs. Grace Ellison (Chauffeur); First National Bank (Janitor); American St. Gobain (Glass Cutter); OSU Tech (Dormitory Counselor) and Alliance Wall (Factory Worker). John worked at Alliance Wall for twenty-two years. His job was to load a machine with material (frit) which required him to climb a ladder and empty 40+lb bags. The current operations manager estimates that John carried over five thousand tons of material during his tenure.

 John was proceeded in death by his parents; five brothers (Aaron; Isaiah (Bill); Clinton Sr; C.D (Top); and Leon); four sisters (Arita Ellis; Samantha Jefferson; Louise James and Willie Mae Reed) and two children (Leonard Jones and Lorenzo Franklin). He is survived by his wife; sister (Velma Hall); four children (Diane Wilson Jordan/Charles; Vanessa Wilson Miller/Robert; Cassandra Jones and Stephen Willis/Gladys); fourteen grandchildren (David Wilson/Shannon; Tyrone Harris/Tiffany; Stephanie Willis; LaKesha Jones; Tamara Jones; LaWanda Jones; Leonard Jones Jr; Natasha Jones; Tiffany Jones; Lenny Jones; Jason Jones; Brandon Jones; Tamara Franklin and Tamon Franklin) and four god-children (Yolanda Carter; Iman Hall; Casha Hall and Kennan James).

You may visit Mr. Wilson, as he slumbers in peaceful repose on Friday, August 14, 2026 between the hours of 12:00 Noon and 5:00 PM at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., 1601 North Wood Drive,  Okmulgee.  No public ceremony is planned.
