No more pain, no more suffering......just rest
On December 26, 1933, a beautiful, baby girl was born to Harold, Sr. and Ora Lee (Blackman) Graham. They named her Juanita Laverne Graham and she was the first of four children in the family.
In 1952, Juanita graduated from Historic Lincoln High School in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. She was a long-time member of the Four Mile Branch Baptist Church and later in life, joined the Old Agency Baptist Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where she was a faithful member for over 45 years. She served the Lord as an Usher and with the Women's Mission. After many years, she became a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church.
In 1953, Juanita was blessed with a son, whom Frederick Ernest Graham. In 1955, she married Robert Coleman, and from this union, three daughters were born. This marriage was later dissolved in 1959. Juanita later married Harvey Brown, Sr., and from this union, two children were born. The two eventually went their separate ways but remained good friends.
Mrs. Brown labored for Owens-Brockway Glass as a packer for many years before her retirement in 1992. She was a devoted mother, who worked hard to provide for her family.
With her loving family members at her side to witness, Juanita Laverne Brown, in her 83 rd year, was beckoned by the Master on Friday morning, July 28, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Sr. and Ora Lee Graham, one grand-daughter, Janae Marshall, brother, Harold Jr., sister, Maggie Graham Simmons, son, Frederick, and nephew, Craig Graham.
Those left to cherish her memory; her son, Darryl (Sekora) Brown, of Muskogee; three daughters, Vicki [Calvin] Marshall, Robyne (Kenneth) Caddy, all of Tulsa, Anita Logan of Muskogee, and Marchell (Donald) Cherry of Poteau, Oklahoma; a grandson she helped to raise, DaiDrian T. Brown of Tulsa; six grand-daughters, NeMarca (Charles) Keys of Oklahoma City, Kiara (Logan) Stinson of Muskogee, LaDarra (Michael) Stanford of Brementon, Washington, Kayanna Graham, D'Asia Brown, and D'Mya Brown, all of Muskogee; eight grandsons, Corey Caddy of Denver, Colorado, Jason (Dallas) Caddy of Houston, Texas, Kyle Caddy of Denver, Colorado, Jody Marshall and Coby Marshall, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Donta' Cherry of Muskogee, KeAundai Alexander of Spencer, Oklahoma and Braxton Graham of Muskogee; Twenty-three great-grandchildren and one great- grandchild on the way; and special cousins in Wisconsin, California, and Florida, along with caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The Hour of Remembrance for Mrs. Brown will commence on Saturday morning, August 5, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. in the most holy sanctuary of Rayfield Baptist Church. Reverend Leroy Walker, Sr., is the gracious host Pastor, and Minister Donald Cherry, of Church of Christ, Poteau, Oklahoma will officiate. Visitation on Saturday will begin at 9:00 AM and those attending the service are kindly asked to assemble at the Church by 9:45 AM. The casket will not be opened at the conclusion of the service.
The Christian Committal will follow the ceremony in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery in Muskogee.
You may visit Mother Brown, as she slumbers in sweet repose at the funeral home in Muskogee on Friday from 10:00 AM until 6:00 P.M, and on Saturday morning, beginning at 9:00 AM at the Church until the service begins. The Casket will not be opened at the conclusion of the ceremony.
