Obituary

Miss Juanita Jackson, in her 64th Season, transitioned to Peace on the evening of September 21, 2021 in Tulsa.

Miss Juanita Jackson, age 64, was born on September 13, 1957 in Miami, Florida to Reverend George Jackson and Evangelist Florine Edwards Jackson. Juanita graduated from Miami South Dade senior high school where her cheerful spirit could be found in the flagette corps. Juanita  completed an associate of arts degree at Miami Dade College and attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.

Committed to education no matter her age, Juanita moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1994, with her two sons, Christopher Jackson and Wallace Johnson to continue her studies at Oral Roberts University. She was a loving mother who was devoted to her sons. A natural caregiver, Juanita worked in the medical field for more than 20 years, most recently working at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. She was also pursing her bachelor's degree in Health Information Management at Western Governor's University.

Juanita Jackson had a vibrant, encouraging personality and could always be found with a bright smile and cheerful heart. She inspired many around her to believe in being their best selves, to speak positive words, and to dream big. As a Christian, Juanita loved the Lord above all things, and enjoyed worshipping him at several churches throughout her life, including Church of Christ Written in Heaven of Goulds and Perrine, Florida, Livingston Street (910) Church of God of Orlando, FL, Orlando Christian Center, and Victory Christian Church of Tulsa, OK.

Although we miss her earthly presence, we are comforted that Juanita now resides with her heavenly Father.

She is preceded in death by her father Reverend George Jackson, and siblings Jeremiah Jackson, David Jackson, I, and JoAnn Johnson.

Juanita is survived by her mother, Evangelist Florine Edwards Jackson, whom she dearly loved. She is also survived by her beloved sons, Christopher Lamont Jackson and Wallace Lewis Johnson, both of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren Zoe Renee Anderson-Jackson, Christopher George Jackson, Jr., Aaliyah Mae Jackson, and JoAnn Jackson, all of Tulsa; siblings Mary Jackson (Vernon) Woolridge of Orlando, FL, Martha Jackson (Kent) Evans of Richmond, VA, Daniel Jackson of Orlando, FL, and Angela Williams (Tiffany) Bartee of Richmond, VA; aunts Jeanette Williams of Tulsa, OK, Christine Edwards of Miami, FL, and uncle Moises Edwards of Miami, FL. Juanita adored and was infinitely proud of a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

The family of Juanita Jackson wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and staff of Hillcrest Medical Center and to the staff of Biglow Funeral Directors Inc.
