Obituary

Ms. Julia Ann Davis, in her 72nd Season transitioned into Peaceful Rest on May 14, 2022 in Dallas, Texas.

Julia Ann Jackson Davis was born on August 17 th , 1949, in Tulsa, OK, the second of nine children to C.P. and Arlevia Jackson.

Julia attended Tulsa Public Schools and was a graduate of the historic Booker T. Washington High school, with the great class of 1967. When duty called, Julia enjoyed attending class functions, volunteering at class events, and most importantly celebrating life with her classmates.  She even held the title of class treasurer for nine years.

On November 18th, 1967, Julia gave birth to her first bundle of joy, her son, Robert Earl Jackson.  Eight years later, on March 3 rd , 1975, Robert would have a little brother and Julia would welcome her baby boy Marcus D. Jackson a.k.a. "Goozy" into the world.

Julia's bold personality showed up in all areas of her life, including her love for God.  At a very young age, Julia accepted Jesus into her life at New Jerusalem Baptist Church.  Her growth in, and love for God continued at Shiloh Baptist Church.  But by persuasion of her eldest son, Robert, her heart landed at Liberty Baptist Church under the leadership of Tommy H. Bean, and she never looked back.

On February 17 th , 1979, Julia Jackson officially became a Davis, when she married M.V. Davis, Sr.  From this union, on June 23 rd , 1981, she finally got her baby girl, Whitney Carol Davis.  For 21 years, M.V. and Julia celebrated love, life, and commitment until his death on September 23 rd , 2000.

Julia had an infectious personality, laugh, and spirit that could brighten any cloudy day.  Her desire to serve others was at the forefront of who she was.  After retiring from Citgo Petroleum, Julia dedicated her time to serving her community.

She devoted years of service to Habitat for Humanity, during which she helped several deserving families become homeowners.  She continued her dedication to her church family.  Put her love of singing and choir directing to use with the Tulsa Chapter of GMWA.  She went where her heart lead her and spent time caring for the elderly.

Julia loved her family and her friends.  She loved and adored spending time with her grandchildren.  She often traveled to Atlanta and spent time with her niece.  She went on lunch dates with friends.  She was a people person and enjoyed imparting wisdom and sharing her testimony with others.

Julia was preceded in death by her loving parents C.P. and Arlevia Jackson, her husband M.V. Davis, Sr., Aileen Sue  (sister), Charles Steven (brother), De'Ounte Davis (grandson)

Remaining to cherish the wonderful memories of her life: Her sisters, Mary Jackson, Deborah Duncan, & Cheryl Spearman.  Her children, Robert Jackson, Marcus Jackson and Whitney Davis, Regina Davis-Butler, M.V. Davis Jr., Jerry Lewis; grandchildren, Myrako Jackson, Priselis Jackson and Jayden Jackson, Ashley Cotton, Chrissy Bowser, Crystal Walker, Uriah Davis, Jared Davis and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
