If she could tell us how she wanted us to remember her, we think she would say we should dry our tears and smile. Choose not to mourn her memory, but celebrate her life.
Her legacy began on January 6, 1963, as a baby girl born to Leo Vaughn Sr., and Sarah Lee {McElroy] Vaughn. Kaaron Vaughn was born the seventh of seven children. She accepted Christ into her life at an early age. She was baptized at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church under the late Reverend J. A. Reed, Sr. Later, in her teenage years, she moved her membership to Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend B. W. Noble. She ended ehr Christian journey at teh Peoples Community Baptis Church in Maryland, under the leadership of the late Reverend T. J. Baltimore.
During her formative years, Kaaron attended Whittier Elementary School, Sadler Junior High School and graduated from Muskogee High School with the Class of 1981. She continued her education at Prairie View A. & M. University in Texas and transferred to Northeastern State University, where she earned her B.A. Degree in Business Administration, specializing in Fashion Merchandising. While attended school at Northeaster, she worked part-time at her father's establishment [Club LaTreece], until she jump-started her career at Dillard's Department Store. She later relocated to Silver Spring, Maryland and continued to pursue her profession at SAK'S 5th Avenue, Sprint PCS and Neiman Marcus.
Kaaron came to the end of her earthly journey at 9:14 P.M. on December 5, 2006 in Brookeville, Maryland, surrounded by her loving, caring family. She leaves to cherish her memories; her children Keena and LaQuillia Vaughn, Silver Spring, Maryland; her beloved pet dog, Yanna [deceased]; her parents, Sarah and Leo Vaughn, Sr., Muskogee, Oklahoma; three brothers, Leo Jr., Scott Anthony and Oliver Douglas, all of Muskogee; three sisters, Toian and Gina, both of Brookeville, Maryland and Demetta, Atlanta, Georgia; neices and nephews, Leo III & wife Julie, LaTreece, Bagriell, Gail, Dominique, Akeen, Olagewan, Olivia and Olinda; two aunts, Jewel Vaughn, Muskogee, Oklahoma and Rosa Marshall, Baltimore, Maryland; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
The tribute will be on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Antioch Baptist Church. The Pastor, Reverend B. W. Noble will officiate. Kaaron will then rest in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee. You may visit Kaaron, as she slumbers at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., on Tuesday from 12 Noon until 7 PM and on Wednesday morning, at the church from 10 AM until Service time at 11 AM only.
