Celebrating the Life of Karen Beatrice Roland Golden

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
-Revelation 21:4

A beautiful baby girl was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Dewitt S. Roland and Beatrice Walker Roland August 13, 1952, and they lovingly named her Karen Beatrice Roland. Karen grew up in Muskogee and received her formal education at Wheatley Elementary, Sadler Jr. High, and graduated from the historical Manual Training High School in the class of 1970 the last graduating class of Manual Training High School.

Karen accepted Christ at an early age in her life and united with the St. Paul Episcopal Church, and later joined the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under Rev. B.W. Noble. After being out of the ark of faith Karen reunited with the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and rededicated her life to Christ and was baptized by Rev. Marlon J. Coleman, Pastor. She was in service faithfully until her health began to fail and she just couldn't come anymore.

Karen had a loving spirit and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Anytime she came into your presence she always had a smile and a big hug for you. She loved her children dearly. Karen transitioned from this life on August 28, 2015 when God called her name, and she answered the call, closed her eyes and went peacefully.

The family preceding her home were her grandparents Fisher Roland, Mary Elnora Roland, and her step grandmother Lula Mae Roland, her father Dewitt Roland, Sr., two brothers Charles and Dewitt S. Jr. and grandson Brandon Golden. The family she leaves behind to cherish her memories and thank the Lord for, her mother Beatrice Roland, Oklahoma City, OK, two sons: Marcus Roland Tulsa, OK, and Reggie Roland, Hodges, Oklahoma three daughters: Keisha Roland, Muskogee, OK, Tia Jones, and Karen Beatrice Roland Wichita, KS, one sister Patricia Roland and husband James Porter, (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) and 16 grandchildren.
