November 16, 1952 – January 15, 2024
On, January 15, 2024 with her loving daughter, and her grandchildren by her side Karen Ann Johnson-Frith inhaled on earth and exhaled in Heaven.
Karen was born on November 16th, 1952, to Henry and Mable Johnson of Muskogee. Karen received Christ at an early age under the direction of Dr. B. W. Noble of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Karen attended Dunbar Elementary, Sadler Jr High, and later graduated from the historic Manuel Training High School with the class of 1971.
In her early years, Karen was known to be spontaneous. Often know as hot foot, she would just get up and hit the highway. Karen worked as a cook and in customer service until her health declined. Karen had a love for music and would dance anywhere. If you knew her, then you knew she was the life of the party. She enjoyed watching movies and loved word puzzles.
Karen had an amazing smile that lit up the room. She loved her family and was known for getting in the kitchen and preparing some of her famous dishes such as her peach cobbler with that melt in your mouth crust, black-eyed peas, oxtail stew, and rice pudding. Karen, loved to speak her mind and always ended her talks with oh well and I love you.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mable Johnson, paternal grandparents, Rev. R.B. and Wilma Johnson; maternal grandparents, Sally Smith, and Thomas Leaks, three sisters, Elaine and Barbara Johnson, Velma Pettit; her brother Thomas "Tommy" Johnson, and her loving granddaughter Londynn Adams.
