Katherine Cherry was born April 9, 1927 to George and Maggie Doss in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She attended Muskogee Public Schools and graduated from Historic Manual Training High School. Katherine met and married Harold Cherry February 4, 1953 and their loving union was blessed with seven children.

Katherine was a faithful wife, mother, teacher, sister, aunt and grandmother and a loyal friend. She was a faithful Christian who obeyed the gospel at an early age. Katherine crossed into eternity July 14, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Maggie Doss; her husband, Harold Lee Cherry; her son, Ronald Cherry; her brother, George Doss, Jr.; two sisters, Ruth Doss and Lillian Moore; along with three grandsons, Raymond Woodard, Jr., Randy Richardson and Harold Cherry, III.

She is survived by; three sons, Harold Cherry Jr. [Shirley], Donald Cherry [Marchell] and Antonio Cherry; three daughters, Marilyn Richardson, Shirley Cherry and Deborah Jones [Stanley]; a sister, Lois Thompson; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; as well as other extended family and friends.

I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course. I have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

You may visit Mother Cherry, as she slumbers in sweet repose at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM.

Funeral services will be a PRIVATE FAMILY CEREMONY and burial will be in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
