Katherine Beatrice House Hayes's Obituary
Mrs. Katherine Hayes, a resident of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, left this life for a life eternal on Wednesday, Juny 29, 2005 from her home in Okmulgee.
Mrs. Hayes attended school in Okmulgee and was a graduate of Dunbar High School. She furthered her education at Langston University, Tuskegee University and Oklahoma State University, where she earned her Master of Science in Education.
She taught for 40 years in the Okmulgee Public School System before her retirement in 1982.
She married Joseph Hayes in 1943 and together they operated teh H & H Cab Company for over 48 years.
She leaves to cherish her special memory; 3 nieces, Shirley Flagg, Chicago, IL, Deborah Steele, Oklahoma City, OK and Lisa House, Tulsa, OK; a nephew, Edward L. House, Jr., Bolingbrook, IL; a sister-in-law, DeLois House, Okmulgee, OK; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
The Funeral Mass for Mrs. Hayes will be celebrated on Saturday morning, July 2, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. in the Uganda Martyr's Catholic Church. Father Benjamin Vima will be the celebrant. The Christian Committal will follow in the Beggs City Cemetery. You may visit Mrs. Hayes on Friday from 10 AM until 7 PM at the funeral home in Okmulgee. At 7 PM, the Sorors of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., will hold a memorial service at the funeral home for Mrs. Hayes.
