On September 8, 1954, a beautiful baby girl was born to Tommy and Kathryn [Breedlove] McFrazier. They named her Kathryn, after her mother. She was the last of nine children born to this loving couple. Even as a baby, Kathy knew how to use the fact that "she" was the baby and as such, she could get whatever she wanted.
Kathy accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and joined Dean's Chapel Baptist Church and later, Macedonia Baptis Church, where her father was Pastor.
She attended Muskogee Public Schools, where she graduated from Muskogee High School with the Class of 1972. She furthered her education at Langston University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in only three years, with a Major in English and a Minor in French.
Kathy married Gary Jones and from this union, a son, Jeremy was born. She then married Donald Jones and was blessed with two children, Carmen and Adam.
As an educator, Mrs. Jones taught school in Brookshire, Texas, Muskogee, Oklahoma, California and most recently, Boley, Oklahoma. She also worked at Muskogee Regional Medical Center. She was a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Order of Eastern Star and the Secret Pals Club of Boley, Oklahoma.
Upon moving to Boley, she united with the Saint John Baptist Church under the Pastorage of Reverend Elmer E. LuGrand. She was a member of the chori, director of the youth choir and directed the Boley Youth Project.
Kathy's home was known as the gathering place for those needing spiritual and physical nourishment.
She was gifted to sing and direct choirs. She used this gift to the glory of God. Her favorite songs included "Changed" "He looked Beyond My Faults" and "Going up Yonder."
Kathryn Marie McFrazier, in her 53rd year, was promoted to "The Lord's Heavenly Choir" on Sunday morning, January 6, 2008 from Boley, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie, her parents, a sister, Claudetta and a brother, Leo.
