Mr. Kenneth Cowans, after 59 years, finished his course of life from Kansas City, Missouri.
On September 19, 1955, a handsome, baby boy was born to Walter Hinson, Sr., and Geneva Cowans. They named him Kenneth Lee and he was the first of twelve children in the family.
He attended school at Carter G. Woodson High School in Tullahassee, Oklahoma, where he graduated in 1975. He received Christ at an early age at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Mr. Cowans enjoyed singing, drawing cartoons and karate, and last, but most importantly, he loved children; his nieces and nephews-the love he had for them was priceless.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his mother and father, Geneva Cowans-McConnell and Walter Hinson, Sr.; his grandparents and a sister, Walter Mae Hinson and also a niece, Berthina "Pumpkin" Hinson.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his loving children, LaKisha Williams and her husband Clarence of Kansas City, and La'Wonne Turner, Tulsa, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, of Kansas City; his siblings, Leslie Hinson [Sharon], Rita Hinson, Tresea Hinson, Brenda Hinson-Knox, Joyce Hinson-Marshall, Katherine Hinson-Wilson, Reginald Hinson [Angela], Lisa Hinson, Shirley McConnell-Henton, Roberta McConnell, Freddie Mills, Walter Hinson, Jr., and Bessie Mae Walsh; a caravan of 25 nieces and nephews; 25 great-nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
The Final Hour with Mr. Cowans will be shared on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the most Holy sanctuary of the Faith Deliverance Christian Center. Apostle Lathon Archie, Sr., Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Marshall Cemetery at Wybark, Oklahoma.
You may visit Mr. Cowans on Monday from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
