Kenneth "Spike" H. McIntosh Jr. was the first child born to Kenneth Sr. and Pauline McIntosh on February 20, 1945 in Tulsa, OK.
He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa, OK in 1962.
Following high school, Spike met the love of his life, Christine Shannon in 1963. They were married in Tulsa, OK on August 8, 1964 and have spent 55 years together. Many may not know this, but they met at The Hut in Okmulgee, OK after the Okmulgee Rodeo. Chris said, "she roped her a cowboy."
Spike and his family resided in Tulsa for several years and then relocated to the country in Collinsville, OK. Spike always had a love for the outdoors, country life and animals. Among his many hobbies were training bird dogs and horses, calf roping, fishing, hunting, saddle making and leather working. Spike was a jack of all trades. He could do anything he set his mind to. Spike worked for American Airlines as a mechanic. He later left American to start his own business as an automotive mechanic for over ten years. He also enjoyed many years as a car salesman at Riverside Chevrolet where he retired and frequently made "Salesman of the Year".
Spike was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on August 11, 1961. He had the privilege of serving as a ministerial servant and an elder for many years. Anyone that knows Spike knew he had a love for people and never met a stranger.
One of his greatest joys was participating in bible
education work, teaching others about Jehovah and HIS promises for the future. He served as a full time evangelizer from 2011-2013 and devoted his life to faithfully serving Jehovah God until his death.
Spike died Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. He was proceeded in death by, his father, Kenneth McIntosh Sr.; step-father, James Jackson Jr,; mother, Pauline Jackson; brother, Marcus McIntosh; and daughter, Janai McIntosh.
He leaves behind his wife, Christine McIntosh; five sons, Kenneth H. McIntosh III (Rhonda), Marlin "Moon" McIntosh (Alisha); Bryan "Kooda" McIntosh; Matthew "Boogie" McIntosh (Laura); Zachary McIntosh (Kacy); one sister, Jan Longley (David); one brother, Parris Jackson; one sister-in-law, Debra McIntosh; eight granddaughters, Taylor (Gus), Mekenzie, Hailey (Gaetano), Asia, Olivia, Adriana, Alyssa, Ava; three grandsons, Austin, Mattox, Zachary; and a host of other family and friends. Spike was loved by so many and will be greatly missed,
but we'll see him again soon, "it's just around the corner."
