After a lengthy battle with his illness, Kenneth Wayne was called to rest with his Heavenly Father on February 3, 2007, for his work on earth was done.
Kenneth Wayne Shipp was born on Wednesday, April 1, 1953 at Bergstrom Air Force Base, Austin, Texas, from the union of Elmer and Jewell [Cockrell] Shipp.
Kenneth received his formal education through the Austin Public School System.
Afterwards, he met and married Rosie Berry, of Austin. This union produced a daughter, Kendra Yvonne Shipp-Wright, of Austin, Texas. Later, he joined the United States Army and received an honorable discharge after his tour in Germany.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Shipp, his mother, Jewell Shipp Lawson, a brother, Jon Steven Lawson, a sister, Stephanie Ann Lawson, a nephew, John David Lawson and a great-niece, Sabrina Seay.
He leaves to lament his passing; his daughter, Kendra Shipp-Wright [Byron]; a granddaughter, Antwanette Wright; his sisters, Brenda Shipp-Sterling, Lesa Shipp-Williams [ Cal], of Austin, Texas and Jo Carol Thomas, of Muskogee, Oklahoma; his nephews, John Goodman, David Lwason and Sean Lawson, of Austin, Texas and Herbert Vallier, of Muskogee, Oklahoma; his nieces, Victoria Jones, Yolanda Jones-Seay and Rae Michelle Williams, of Austin, Texas, Jessica Vallier and Ciara Cherry, of Muskogee, Oklahoma; great-nieces, Jennifer Jones, Savoria Seay and Alexis Frank, of Austin, Texas; great-nephews, Jonathan Jones, Donxovell Seay and David Lawson, Jr.; great-great-niece, Skilah Jones and great-nephew, Jhordin Jones, of Austin, Texas; he also leaves his special friend, Rebecca Jones, of Muskogee, Oklahoma.
The final moments with Mr. Shipp will be on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. The Graveside ceremony will be held at the National Cemetery at Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Reverend Michael McDaniel, Pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church will officiate.
You may visit Mr. Shipp, as he slumbers at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 Noon to 6 PM.
The funeral cortege will leave the funeral home on Wednesday morning at 9:30 AM.
