IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lakiesha
Thompson
June 25, 1980 – May 31, 2022
On June 25, 1980, a beautiful baby girl was born to Damon Ledbetter and Rochelle Ray in Fort McClellan, AL. They named her Lakiesha Monique Ledbetter. She was the first born of two children. Lakiehsa graduated from Hilldale High School with the class of 1998. She attended Antioch Temple of Hope with her husband, but was a member of Boulevard Christian Church.
Lakiesha and Jerrod Sr. knew each other for many years. In 2014 the two decided to take their friendship to the next level. After declaring their love for one another, Lakiesha and Jerrod Sr. were married on May 19, 2019. Their romance continued to flourish as Keisha's health declined. On May 31, 2022, Lakiesha and Jerrod Sr. spent the afternoon at honor heights park in Muskogee, OK. Unbeknownst to them, these would be Lakiesha's final moments. It was at this time Jerrod told his wife of three years, "I got you" and "I love you forever."
Lakiesha was preceded in death by her two grandmothers, Callie Ray of Anniston, AL and Ernestine Ledbetter of Muskogee, OK; her two grandfathers, Booker T. Ray of Cincinnati, OH and Charles F. Ledbetter of Muskogee, OK; and her uncles, Charles R. Ledbetter of Casper, WY and Darryl E. Ledbetter of Muskogee, OK.
