In Tulsa, Oklahoma, a bouncing, baby boy arrived on September 13, 1987 from the union of Debbie and Larry Golden. He was affectionately called "Twettie Bird" at birth, but later called "J. R."
At an early age, he was baptized and attended Vision of Hope Church in Redbird, Oklahoma. J.R. received his education in the Porter Public Schools, where he graduated Porter High School with the Class of 2006. He loved sports and was a talented athlete. He was offered a scholarship from Bacone College to play football, but due to a knee injury, he was unable to attend.
After graduation, J.R. an dcheyenne Lewis fell in love and were married on May 26, 2007. From their union, the pride of his life was born, Kaden Lee on September 26, 2007.
J.R. was always ready and willing to help a friend or even a stranger at the drop of a hat. He attended TCC and was certified as a diesel mechanic. He was a very talented diesel mechanic and at the time of his death, he was employed by Hoffmier Truck Repair in Tulsa.
J. R. finished early, on Saturday morning, November 29, 2008 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
Those that remain to lament his death; his loving wife and son, Cheyenne and Kaden, of the home in Porter, Oklahoma; his mother and step-father, Debbie and Dwayne Gibson, Coweta, Oklahoma; a half-sister, Angel Golden and Aiden, Atlanta, Georgia; his grandparents, Joe and Elsie Jackson; aunts and uncles, Ed Jackson, Porter, Okahoma, Mark and Nadine Scott, Porter, Oklahoma, Leonard and Rayeanne Jackson, Muskogee, Oklahoma, Lamar and Terri Jackson, Wagoner, Oklahoma, and Joann Jackson, Porter, Oklahoma; very special cousins, Nathan, Josh, Alisha, Tyler, Cassie, Jasmine, Miles, Nicholas, Andrew, Milee, Matthew, Jalisa, Dominique, Raylee, Alexia and a caravan of other family members and friends.
Service of Remembrance will be on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. in the Porter High School Gymnasium.
Burial will follow in the Red Bird Cemetery. You may visit "J.R." as he slumbers at the funeral home in Muskogee on Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM.
